Founded in 1997, DVC has been a thriving hub for bringing together music enthusiasts that share the same interests and passions. We provide free DJ trainings for students, organize music events, play at different venues for hiring services, and more importantly, contribute to building a welcoming and versatile community for everyone interested in the music scene. FAQs
How do I join?
We are an open-membership club open to all students, no experience required! There is no formal membership process. Please connect with us through our social channels to be up-to-date on all of our events and activity (linked above). We'd love to meet you in person there.
How do I be active?
DVC is a club where you truly get out what you put in. If you're interested in becoming an active member, you're more likely to be prioritized to get trainings and play DVC events! Here are some ways you can be more involved:
(1) Attend GBM! These are our general body meetings held in person at our office on campus. Live music, presentations, lessons, socials, laughs, meeting new people. You don't want to miss it! This quarter's GBMs will be held every Thursday from 6PM-7:30PM.
(2) Hang at Office Hours! Our awesome DVC staff members hold weekly office hours where the office is open and practicing on the decks is first come first serve! Check in our Discord server for weekly availability.
(3) Come to Staff or Committee meetings! DVC staff meet weekly to discuss planning for all aspects of event production, marketing, paid gigs for the club (hireouts), and GBM. Help us plan DVC's future! Staff is every Tuesday from 6PM-7:30PM this quarter. Other committees will announce their meeting times in Discord.
(3) Help at Hireouts! DVC is often hired by other campus orgs and entities to play at their events. These require a bit of set up and tear down of our own equipment, which we can always use help with! You can be notified of our hireouts in our Discord server.
(6) Overall... Show Your Face! We'd love to get to know you better. Don't be shy, DVC is a family!
How do I learn how to DJ???
We offer free trainings every quarter! To get trained, please attend one of our GBMs and speak to a Trainer. They'll help you navigate the next steps.
Where can I find office hours?
We will post our staff's weekly office hours in our Discord. Any last minute updates will be made in the #office-access channel.
How can I join staff?
We currently are holding staff elections on an as-needed basis at the end of every quarter. We welcome all those who are interested in a position to talk to a staff member related to the role you are interested in for more information.
